Well first time visiting Candlelight South and we had a great lunch. Laura our server was outstanding. The place is clean (including the bathrooms). Our lunch came out hot just like it should be. Moved here from Texas and love a big glass of ice tea and they serve their tea in a proper sized glass. It's those little things that helps make for a great experience. We will return. Also they now have their liquor license so you will be able to have a drink in addition to beer and wine. So it's five stars today. Photos to follow

50¢ for extra sauce. Forgot to put cheese on cheese fries. Requested a medium rare Candlelight Burger. Came out a burnt, dry, beyond well done Candlelight burger. Fries aren't a standard side with a burger but a $7.00 appetizer item. Too expensive and very slow service.

My wife and I stumbled on this place on Instagram. Read all the reviews and decided to check it out after a day at the beach. It did not disappoint! We took the advice of many to try the wings and the shrimp. They were both the best we have had in a long time. Pete our server was awesome! The homemade tarter, blue cheese, and ranch dressing (yes we tried them all) were incredible. If you are in St Augustine it is a must stop!

Good food at a decent price. The wings are great and the Turkey Ruben is wonderful. Has the cleanest restaurant bathrooms I have seen.

First, I have to say the service is very good. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and was disappointed, it had so little beef on it. The few little pieces of meat was good but so much bread and soooo little beef. I would rather they charge me a couple more dollars so I could have a real sandwich. Very disappointed because the reviews are good, but skip the French Dip sandwich.

A great spot in St. Augustine, we are locals so we are coming back! Very good beer selction and the wings are the largest around.. Cant wait to go back!

I really hate to give this place an average review because it sounds maybe we just came on a bad night for them after reading the reviews. The food was amazing !!!!! We tried a little bit of everything! And yes the wings are awesome! Great beer selection too! The bad= the service we received . Our waitress was a older lady . We immediately put our drink order in and had to wait almost 10 minutes ( they weren't busy at the time ) After we got our drinks we asked for a minute to decide on what to order to eat. We didn't see our waitress after waiting about 20 minutes and completely drinking our beers. A server who was assigned to other tables saw us sitting for awhile and came over to take our order and second drink order . Food came out about 10 minutes later. Our waitress never checked on us after half way through of our meal with empty drinks again. We wanted more beers but decided that the service wasn't up to par so decided to just pay and leave . That was another long wait as well to pay the bill. Maybe it was just a bad night but service wasn't up to par.

Absolutely fantastic. Great beer selection. The wings were phenomenal, the queso and chips are freaking delicious. My chicken Philly was so tasty. I requested it without peppers and My server made a mistake requested they make a new one. That's above and beyond my expectations and I work in this industry. I would have survived with peppers. My boyfriends French dip was so good and juicy. Will be coming back.

Saturday night arrival by group of 4; we were seated immediately. Server helpful with broad beer offerings to accompany our "pub grub".....which was D@MN good. Among the very best wings that I've had in many, many, MANY samplings all across this great Nation. Their Chernobyl sauce has an exceptionally good chile flavor but must be ordered on the side...it plays for keeps. Server was a tall, polite blonde and the manager was about and available. If your looking for a well run pub with fine grub and exceptional service, go here.

Tonight, on the 4th of July, we had one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. The service was absolutely horrible and the food was mediocre, came out wrong and way over priced. The waiter was unconscious, rude and defensive. First, it took him over 15 minutes to take our order, then he served 2 of 5 meals. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I flagged down another person, who happened to be the owner, asked where the other meals were, he defended the waiter. Two of the meals was not what we ordered and he never brought the salad. Then, I asked for the check, so we could go to fireworks show. It took 2 reminders and an additional 15 minutes. The customer is always right, but not in Candlelight. No one apologized or took responsibility for the mistakes. We will not eat there or recommend anyone, accept Yankee fans, you'll love it.

Been going to candlelight Inn in NY for over 10 years, recently I moved to Orlando Florida and thought i wouldn't have those amazing for a long time. Until a friend sent me a picture from the menu board in NY saying that they were opening up a location in St. Augustine. I couldn't have been happier and as soon I got a chance my gf and I along with some friends made the two hour trip up to St. Agustine. From the moment we walked in we received such great service. Everyone was extremely friendly and when we told them we had been to the location in NY they went and got George (the owner) who is the brother of the owners in NY. He was a great host routinely checking in on us and giving us background on what made him bring the candlelight to Florida. In one trip to Candlelight South I learned more about the history of the candlelight inn than I did in NY. Now to why we were there, the WINGS and boy they didn't disappoint one bit. I ordered a small (5 piece) hot for everyone at the table and they tasted exactly the same, It took me back to the Candlelight Inn in NY with every bite. I also ordered the crinkle fries with jalapeño cheese which were identical and my gf and friends ordered the waffle fries which they all loved. For dessert we ordered the cookie ala mode and it was amazing. Through out the night I couldn't stop thanking George for bringing the greatest wings in the world to Florida and we all agreed that it was worth the 2 hour trip and that we would return soon.

Good food and good service. THe salad was very good and the wings, of course, were great. I love plenty of sauce so that added. Thank you guys for being open on Sunday! LOL!

Awesome food and awesome waitress! Fried banana peppers, avocado blt, waffle fries, burgers, and hot dogs were all delicious!

We both tried the recommended buffalo wings on our first visit. They are as good if not better than the reviews suggest! My husband is a buffalo native and quite skeptical about south-of-buffalo efforts (and we've tried many!). These fit the bill perfectly, as did the local vibe, hopping bar and separate family scene. Crispy outside tender and juicy inside -- the "hot" we ordered was like buffalo medium so we'll go hotter next time. Jasmine, our sweet server was perfect and lovely. Great prices, local beers. All around, a fun night! Can't wait for next visit.

Great place with a great deal on wings - full wings at prices you'll find other places charge for just the drum or wing separate. Order of 5 is equal to 10 at any other place. Traditional buffalo style - mild is most places mediums. Also bring the kids for great shakes and ice cream desserts! They also have a great beer selection with many wines to choose from as well. No liquor at this time. Highly recommend if u are looking for a regular place without all the high prices. A great place to hang out and watch the game and have some good eats!

BEST WINGS IN FLORIDA! Hands down the absolute best wings, just as good as there sister restaurant in NY. Beer selection was great as well as the service. I will definitely be back!

Nice place! Overall food was good. We got: the Poppers (broccoli and bacon)- awesome, just wish there were one more (you get 5). Also got two 5-count wings. And yes, they are super filling, as you get a drumstick and flat together, counting as one. My husband and I got Garlic Parmesan and Hot wings. The GP wings were pretty good, but very greasy (left a pool of grease in my platter) but overall still tasty. The hot wings were good and not too blazin hot. The large portion of fries was a pretty large heap. All in all I'd say to give it a shot. The wings are definitely better than another place in town that has a wing night. (Starts with a "W")

Wow, what a find! We stopped here while traveling to a different restaurant because the bridge was open and we were starving. The restaurant/bar is extremely clean and looks like they redid the whole place when they moved in. They have a good selection of craft beers on tap but really I'm giving them all FIVE stars because of the wings! You have to try them! They are about 3 times the size of BW3 and come out whole. (drummet and wing still attached) The sauce is pretty standard, the ranch and blue cheese were great, though I'm not sure if it was store bough or homemade but is was much better than average. Finally, the price! We split 10 wings which was actually 20 pieces and it was about the same price as you would pay for 15 wings at BW3 but don't forget they were about three times the size! I'm already planning my next visit!

We had dinner here on 6/29. A little nervous that it was so slow but they had good wings (Buffalo better than the garlic parm), good taco's, good shrimp, good sangria. Great service.
(4)Kristen C.
The wings are phenomenal! Perfectly cooked, juicy and huge too! Pair wings with an Eli's root beer they have on draft, and you've got a perfect meal. Highly recommend it!

Great place. Tried this place for first time. Brand new place in town. Great prices and very fresh food. Menu has all the usual hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads for lunch. French fries and wings were fantastic and wings are actually very large. Hamburgers are big and French dip was fantastic. Highly recommend this place hope it does real well.

Best chicken wings in town. The name makes it sound like fine dining but it is a sports bar. Several draft beers and wings are just a start. They are famous for their waffle fries as well. This is the son of the famous New York Candlelight inn. Reasonable prices great food.

The food was pretty pretty good. The place was clean. The service was good. Here comes the but! My wife had the chicken philly but was kind of greasy and said would have been better with no peppers and add mushrooms. My son and I had wings. If you like big, wet wings that come whole this place is for you. They tasted good but they were served as a whole wing not a flat and drumette but a whole wing. Just not for me. They were also loaded with sauce. Another thing I don't really care for. Had so much sauce when I pulled the wings apart sauce flipped off and sprinkled onto my shorts. Again not the worst I have ever had but not the best. Just don't think I can go back. And just one of those places that the atmosphere just doesn't feel right. Hate to be so critical just not a place I was wowed by!

WOW! Fantastic Wings and Great Service-- They have a flavor for everyone. We went to Candlelight South on a Friday night and could not believe the choices of seasonings - we tried 4 - Teriyaki, Buffalo, Barbecue, and Parmesan and Garlic. We tried the Sweet Potato fries and they were Fantastic! Be careful in how many wings you offer because this place really gives you your money's worth - full wings with the drum and wing together - Yummy, but filling. We got 10 and two different sauces. Loved the different beers to chose from as well. A relaxing and very casual place -- jeans and sweaters were in order.

Just had the best eggs Benedict I've ever had! We've been going for wings and burgers but now I'll be going for brunch! They have one heck of a chef who makes so many things from scratch. I'll keep going back!
